They are currently 7 points behind leaders Manchester United with 16 games remaining before the season ends. All things remaining equal, Manchester United may have tougher opponents towards the last quarter of the season, and are likely to drop points. This will allow Chelsea the opportunity to take them and secure their third successive title.
