The United States is considering strikes against Taliban and al-Qaeda elements in the Afghan border regions of Pakistan—with or without the blessing of President Musharraf.
Osama Bin Laden is rumoured to be hiding in Pakistan’s northern border regions. The US government has stated that no action will be ruled out in pursuit of the al-Qaeda leader-—they will act if the opportunity presents.
The Pakistani people, and their government, are strongly opposed to American military action in sovereign territory.
Will the USA ignore Pakistani public opinion and the wishes of a key ally in an attempt to make gains in the War on Terror?

Note on verification: This market will cash out early only if a military strike can be credibly verified. For purposes of this market, a “strike” will be any deliberate use of offensive military force against a defined target within Pakistan. “Credible” will amount to either admission of the US government or reports in two out of three of the following: BBC, CNN or al-Jazeera.
